Gravataí
The church planting team in Gravataí, Brazil exists to celebrate God and fulfill his purposes in the life of the church, cooperating in church planting movements both locally and globally.
There are two ABWE missionary couples working in Gravataí along side of 3 Brazilian couples in order to plant healthy reproducing churches that produce mature Christians.
Shane and Erin Latham planted this ministry's first church, Comunidade Cristã, in 1996. Later, in 2003, with the help of church members Eduardo and Cici Corréia and fellow ABWE missionaries Barron and Heidi Geiger, the ministry's next church, Comunidade Cristã - Rincão, was born.
Now, Brazilians Alexandre and Cristini Bono and André and Sidinéia Delgado have joined the team in an effort to strengthen the local churches as well as promote ongoing church planting minstries.
In 2006, the team is targeting the city's downtown area, another neighborhood known as Bela Vista, and the Beach cities of Tramondaí and Imbé which are all in different stages of the church planting process.
